Grandmaster Robert Cutrell has trained in the martial arts over 45 years and is the founder of the art of ChunJiDo and the ChunJiDo International Martial Arts Organization founded in 1996, with members in 5 continents and over 30 countries around the world. Along with being the 10th Dan Soke of ChunJiDo, Grandmaster Cutrell holds black belt ranking in Kempo, Nippon Jujitsu, Taekwondo, and Hapkido.
In 2008 Grandmaster Cutrell was prominently featured in a stamp treasury album published by the Olympic Committee and Chinese government in commemoration of the martial arts during the Beijing Olympics. The book contains pictures of 650 of the most prominent martial artists in the world, and Grandmaster Cutrell was selected as one of the representatives from the USA.
As a multiple Hall of Fame inductee, Grandmaster Cutrell has been recognized by many organizations for his outstanding contributions to the martial arts. In 2019 Grandmaster Cutrell was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as “Distinguished Grandmaster” and is a member of the IMACUSA HeadFounders & Grandmasters Council. In addition to being an inductee to the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and a member of the Grandmasters Council, he was also a featured instructor at the IMACUSA Training Camp in 2022 and again in 2023.
Grandmaster Robert Cutrell specializes in advanced self-defense training and has an extensive knowledge of traditional martial arts principles and application. In addition to sponsoring international training camps in Evansville, Indiana, his hometown, Grandmaster Cutrell has conducted seminars across the United States, Canada, and Europe and has also coached several national and world champions. Due to his love of teaching, and his commitment to giving back to the arts, Grandmaster Cutrell is still on the dojo floor 5 nights a week teaching at two separate schools located in Indiana and Illinois.
