Grand Master Troncoso is a 8th Degree Black Belt (Pal Dan). With a martial arts career spanning over four decades, he began training in 1975 in San Angelo, Texas at the Martial Arts Academy under the instruction of Grandmaster James Cummings and Grand Master George Howard. From 1979 to 1983 he competed in tournaments in the AOK circuit around west and central Texas. He received his black belt from Senior Grand Master James Cummings and Grand Master George Howard. He was an assistant instructor at the YMCA alongside Grandmaster George Howard from 1990-1994. He became head instructor following Grandmaster Howard’s departure in 1994. In 2000, he was promoted to the rank of Sa Dan (4th Degree) Master. In 2005, Master Troncoso was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Before an audience of his peers, Master Troncoso became Grand Master Troncoso with his promotion to 8th Dan in 2015.
